In the present issue, a departure from biogeochemical topics have been made to focus on some legal issues since our mandate includes "Environmental Law". Recent pronouncement by Supreme Court directing the government to provide clean drinking water for citizens has received considerable appreciation. Prof. D.N. Rao, Centre for Economic Studies, SSS, JNU, discuses these judgements along with general comments on ozone depleting substances. A Research Scholar in Environmental Policy has reviewed recent researches in policy matter. News item regarding Gujarat High Court Judgement on Gir Forest Sanctuary is briefly covered as Notes. Two book reviews, one dealing with problems on Monsoon Biogeochemistry and another on Coastal Zones are presented. Usual informations on conferences, publications, etc. are also provided.
