G.S.R. 85(E).-(1) The Government have decided to insôitute a Scheme ïn Labelìing of Environment Friendly Products. The scheme will operate on a national basis and provide accredition and labelling for household and other consumer products which meet certain environmental criteria along with quality requirements of the Indian Standards for that product. The Label shall be known as the "ECOMARK" and will be of the design to be notified.
Any product which is made, used or disposed of in a way that significantly reduces the harm it would otherwise cause the environment could be considered as Environment Friendly Product,

S.O. 123(E).- Whereas the increasing ambient noise levels in public places from various sources, inter-alia, industrial activity, construction activity, generator sets, loud speakers, public address systems, music systems, vehicular horns and other mechanical devices have deleterious effects on human health and the psychological well being of the people, it is considered necessary to regulate and control noise producing and generating sources with the objective of maintaining the ambient air quality standards in respect of noise;
Whereas a draft of Noise Pollution (Control and Regulation) Rules, 1999 was published under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment and Forests vide number S.O. 528 (E) dated the 26 June, 1999 inviting objections and suggestions from all the persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of sixty days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette containing the said notification are made available to the public-,
And whereas copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the ist day of July, 1999. And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft rules have been duly considered by the Central Government-,
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (ii) of sub-section (2) of section 3, sub-section (1) and clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 6 and section 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules for the regulation and control of noise producing and generating sources, namely:
The Draft Rules covers the following subjects &/or catagories: Short-title and commencement, Definitions, Ambient air guality standards in respect of noise for different areas/zones, Responsibility as to enforcement of noise pollution control measures, Restrictions on the use of loud speakers/public address system, Consequences of any violation in silence zone/area, Complaints to be made to the authority, Power to vrohibit etc. continuance of music sound or noise.
S.O.69(E) - The following draft rules which the Central Government proposes to notify and implement make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6,8 and 25 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), is hereby published for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft rules will be taken into consideration after the expiry of the forty five days from the date on which the Official Gazette in which the notification is published are made available to the public are made available to the public;
Objective or suggestion Objections or suggestions may be forwarded to the Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Paryavaran Bhawan, CGO Complex, New Delhi-110003;
And objective Objections or suggestion, which may be received from any person in respect of the said draft rules before the expiry of the said period, will be taken into consideration by the Central Government.

Ozone Depleting Substances are to be exported to or imported from countries specified in Schedule V only under a licence, 6.Regulations on the sale of Ozone Depleting Substances, 7.Regulation on the purchase of Ozone Depleting Substances, 8.Regulation on the use of Ozone Depleting Substance, 9.Prohibition on new investments with Ozone Depleting Substances, 10.Regulation on import, export and sale of products made with or containing Ozone Depleting Substances, 11.Regulation on reclaimation and destruction of Ozone Depleting Substances, 12.Regulation on manufacture, import and export of compressors, 13.Procedure for registration, cancellation of registration and appeal against such orders, 14.Monitoring and reporting requirements, 15.Changes in Schedules, 16.Exemption.
S. O. 705 (F-).- Whereas draft rules in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (viii) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) was published in the Gazette vide S.O. 980 (E) dated 20th November, 1998 entitled Recycled Plastics Usage Rules, 1998 inviting objections from the public within 60 days from the date of the publication of the said notification and whereas all objections received were duly considered;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (viii) of sub-section (2) of section 3 read with section 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act. 1986, the Central Government hereby notifies the rules for the manufacture and use of recycled plastics carry bags and containers.
The Draft Rules covers the following subjects &/or catagories: 1. Short title and commencement, 2. Definitions:- In these rules unless the context requires, 3. Prescribed Authority, 4. Prohibition of usage of carry bags -or containers made of recycled plastics, 5. Conditions of Manufacture of carry bags and containers, made of plastics, 6. Recycling, 7. Marking/modification, 8. Thickness of Carry bags, 9. Self regulation by certain persons.
